Pirates had to work hard for the win, trailing by one at the end of the first quarter and up only by four at the half.

Leading by four in the later stages of the third period the Pirates would score the last six points to take a ten point lead heading into the final period.

The Pirates bench would help extend their lead to 15. But the Giants closed the gap to four with 1:04 left thanks to a Phill Jones three.

Jones again was a handful for his opposition with a game high thirty points, making it two in a row that he has scored thirty or more.

But the Giants come from behind win was not to be as Pirates new import Ron Dorsey and Hayden Allen (21 points) would combine to score the last nine points for the home side to seal the victory.

Dorsey had 17 points, but again struggled from the three point line going 0/7, which makes it 0/12 through in through first two games.
