Wellington's Tim Wilding overhauled local Ethan Glover during the last leg recording a time of 2:01:21, a new course record.

Glover was just 13 seconds back, stopping the clock at 2:01:34, well inside George bennetts previous record of 2:03:15 set last year.

The fastest woman on course was Kim Hamer-Hurst from Upper Hutt, completing the Epic course in 2:38:00 ahead of Nelson's Meg Bichard.

In the Enduro race the Vets pulled of a bit of a coup, with the fastest male and female competitors being Andrew Scott (Vet3) in 2:05:57 and Jacqui Keay (Vet2) 2:30:53 respectively, both new course records.
